In the beginning, extra cream was shipped out of the Alpena area to downstate creameries to be processed into butter, ice cream and cheese and often shipped back to NE Michigan for sale.

Lange in 1927-28 - known as a creamery in 1909 - 1930 (may have been same as the Alpena Farm Produce & Creamery. Alpena Farm Produce & Creamery - T.W. Robb was mgr in 1909, John Simmons was mgr in 1910, Paul Forest was mgr in 1930, - located at the same address as the Alpena Creamery which was the ft. East of Chisholm - known from 1908 - 1922.

Asselin's Ice Cream Store - owned by Robert Asselin in 1937-46, sold to Albert Weine who teamed with Vernon Scott in 1946-49, purchased by Mildred Gostelow and became the 424 Dairy Bar in 1949 - 1954 - located at 424 W. Chisholm St.
Beatrice Cream Station - was at 229 S. Second Ave (started about 1935 or earlier) then owned by Richard & Clara Firsch from 1937 - 1944, the also owned the Firsch Cream & Egg Market at 108 E. Washington Ave from 37-39, and moved to 117 Lockwood by 1944.
Beck Creamery - owned by John & Dora Beck - Beck Creamery, Cold Storage & Beverage Company at 123 E. Chisholm st - Alpena Claude Scott was the butter maker in 1922 - known 1891- 1922.
Bedard's Cream Station - owned by Henry (Pat) & Emily Bedard at 119 Lockwood Ave in Alpena. He worked at Northern Creamery as ice cream maker (1927) until being laid off in 1932, then began his own cream station, selling to Seidel Creamery of Bay City (by rail car). When Seidel closed in 1957, he sold cream to Alpha Creamery of Traverse City until retiring in 1966.
Bolton Cream Station - owned by Vasold Bros & Co. of Bay City in 1915, then owned by Seidel Creamery of Bay City - known in 1918.

Gennrich Creamery - owned by Otto & Ella Gennrich (prior to 1929), located on Long Lake Ave. He purchased the SunnySide Dairy in 1929 from Mrs. Naylor & began marketing milk as well as being a creamery, the creamery was in business until 1944.

Located at 243 Chisholm (corner of 2nd) in 24-30, then on East Tawas St from 37-39, then moved to 245 E. Chisholm by 1949. - known from 1924 - 1956
