MI Milkman - Kim J. Sumerix
Grandma MacArthur gave me the first milk bottle from the Alpena Dairy when I was just a young boy and that started a collection of history, milk bottles and dairy paraphernalia over the next 40+ years. My interest is based in the 4 counties of NE Michigan which include Alpena, Presque Isle, Cheboygan and Montmorency. I have tracked down the family members, spent countless hours in libraries, searched through the rubble of old buildings to find information connected to my personal family history and the dairy industry. For generations, my family have been farmers and loggers, first settling in NE Michigan in the 1860's from Cheboygan, Wolverine, Alpena, Hillman and many points in between.

My goal is that it will hold photos, names and some history of the known dairies from NE Michigan that delivered milk to the area consumers.
